STOCKHOLM: Modern Times Group, the largest free-TV and pay-TV operator in Scandinavia and the Baltic region, yesterday announced its intention to launch the TV1000 Kino Russian-language premium movie channel in the USA.
It will target America's Russian speaking population, estimated to be in the region of 5-7 million people.

Initially available to the DISH Network's 13.79 million subscribers, Kino is included in the network's Russian Mega Pack, which offers five Russian language channels. It is also available as an á la carte option.

TV1000 Russian Kino was launched in the Baltics, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States in October 2005, with coverage across Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
