Following Shona Seifert's conviction last month for defrauding the US government, the former Ogilvy and Mather staffer has now parted company with her present employer, TBWA/Chiat/Day.

Seifert was president of the agency's New York office. She resigned on 28 February by "mutual agreement" but has been on leave since the beginning of the year to concentrate on her defense case. She joined TBWA in 2002.

She was accused, with former O&M finance director Thomas Early, of instructing employees to falsify time sheets and overbill the National Office of Drug Control Policy when O&M worked on the account in 1999.

Seifert and Early both denied the charges but were convicted. They are now awaiting sentence and face up to five years in prison plus fines. Each intends to appeal.
