Redwood International, the overseas wing of Britain’s largest custom publisher, Redwood Publishing, is poised to invade the US market from within, moving its international headquarters from London to New York City.

Until now Redwood, which already does business stateside with major clients such as JC Penney, Sears and Home Depot, has operated via its Canadian affiliate Redwood CMP in which it shares a 50/50 holding with Toronto-based WSP Marketing.

The US operation will be headed as president by Redwood’s former international director James McLeod: “You've got to be very, very careful with North America,” he opined. “A lot of British companies have tried to go there with varying degrees of success. We didn't put in infrastructure and investment before the accounts being there. We've followed the business.”
