There's dedication to winning new business. And there's dedication to winning new business.

None more so than a pitch team at J Walter Thompson's New York office, which sweated not only blood to gain an account -- but also shed fifty pounds avoirdupois in weight!

A smart move when the account concerned -- California-based weight-loss specialist Jenny Craig said to have an annual worth of around $30 million (€24.98m; £16.51m). Full details in WAMN's Accounts on the Move ebulletin, mailed this morning].

The company's recently appointed vice president of marketing Scott Parker declared himself impressed by JWT's commitment to brand values, adding (perhaps more pertinently): "We also liked that the team that pitched the business will also be managing the business."

Also-rans in the creative-only contest were Interpublic's Gotham in New York and independent Heil-Brice (Newport Beach, California). Bartle Bogle Hegarty quit the running prior to the final presentations, while incumbent shop Johnson/Ukropina (Irvine, California) didn't make it to the starting gate.
