Channel NewsAsia (International), the Singapore-headquartered news service owned by MediaCorp News, has reached its target of 12 million viewers two years ahead of schedule.

The channel, which has only broadcast beyond Singapore for a year, now has a presence in fourteen other countries across Asia. Its long-term plans include expansion beyond Asia.

“The reach we have achieved so far is way ahead of our forecast,” commented Shaun Seow, ceo of MediaCorp News. “This shows that there is a strong demand in the region for news coverage with an Asian focus.”
