WINNIPEG, Manitoba: Media conglomerate CanWest Global Communications and investment bankers Goldman Sachs have agreed a C$2.3 billion ($1.95bn; €1.5bn; £996m) deal to buy Canadian television group Alliance Atlantis Communications.
Alliance's thirteen specialty channels will be combined and managed together with CanWest's Canadian television business, with the formal combination expected sometime in 2011.
