LONDON: BBDO has been named best agency network in the 2016 Warc 100 rankings, while WPP picked up the accolade of best holding company.

Meanwhile, MullenLowe Lintas Group Mumbai was named best creative agency, Starcom Mediavest Group Chicago best media agency, and Arc Chicago best digital/specialist agency.

The Warc 100 is an annual list of the world's best campaigns, agencies and brands, based on their performance in effectiveness and strategy competitions in the previous calendar year. To compile this year's rankings, Warc tracked more than 2,000 winning campaigns from 79 different competitions.

The London-headquartered holding company scored 3405 points to second-placed Omnicom Group's 3304 points. BBDO Worldwide reached 1146 points on the agency networks list, with Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in second on 809 points. Both companies also finished top of their respective rankings last year and extended their leads over the second-placed company in 2016.

The was another repeat winner on the creative agency rankings, with MullenLowe Lintas Group Mumbai scoring 195 points. Droga5 New York was in second place on 179 points, with Ogilvy & Mather New York third on 131 points.

On the top digital/specialist agency list, Arc Chicago was a clear winner on 75 points, ahead of the Marketing Store, another US agency, on 50 points.

Finally, Starcom Mediavest dominated the media agencies rankings, with its Chicago office finishing in first (on 201 points), ahead of New York in 128 points. Starcom Mediavest Group Chicago has been named top media agency in each of the three years of Warc 100 rankings so far.
