The Boston Beer Company, whose fickleness with ad agencies has earned it almost as much fame as its delectable nectars, is again fluttering its lashes at would-be agency Romeos, say insiders.

Word from within is that the beer company’s vp-brand development Robert Hall has approached several agencies to seek ideas for its flagship Samuel Adams brand, although he was not available to take calls on the subject.

The dowry on offer is said to be between $15 million and $20m annually. Sam Adams' incumbent Boston shop, McCarthy Mambro Bertino, was formed earlier this year following a spin-off from Texas-based Square One. MMB was equally reluctant to discuss the matter.
