Singapore-based telecommunications operator StarHub has a customer base of more than 2.1 million mobile users, 540,000 households for pay TV, 422,000 households for online, and 200,000 digital voice and VoIP fixed line users.

With access to so much customer data, the company is in a good position to mine its databases for new insights. To that end, StarHub put together a customer lifecycle management team in early 2011. In November 2012, it launched SmartHub ("our attempt to work with the industry").
