The study took place in 2001 in ten major cities across the world Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Sydney, Milan, Madrid, Berlin, Paris, London and Mexico. Young people between the ages of 16-19 years were recruited and given cameras to record various aspects of their lives. Some of the photographic content was mandatory, e.g. bedroom, favourite fashions, brands, technology and advertising.
