It was tempting to begin this article with a flurry of facts about the growth of internet usage and the consequent decline in traditional media. After all, that is how most articles about the internet seem to begin. However, I have decided to commence with a rational view of the internet and, in particular, its relationship with the medium its disciples seem to target most often: television.
