INTRODUCTION
The Independent Television Commission oversees the regulation of television advertising in the UK, and has published guidelines for advertisers regarding their conduct in the production of commercials. This body has been granted statutory supervision of advertising and operates mandatory pre-screening of every commercial submitted for broadcast, as well as responding to and investigating complaints by the viewing public.
