SINGAPORE: Senior executives from Google and Maybank have joined the judging panel for the 2018 WARC Prize for Asian Strategy, which has a $10,000 fund to reward the best evidence of strategic marketing thinking in Asia.

Priya Barve, Head of BrandLab APAC at internet giant Google, and Shazlina Mohd Suffian, Executive Vice President Head, Corporate Marketing, Group Brand and Sponsorship Management at Malaysian bank Maybank, have been added to what is now a 21-strong panel of strategy experts and marketers, chaired by Kellogg’s Chief Commercial Officer, Shekar Khosla.

A second batch of agency-side judges has also been recruited, including Michael Chadwick, Chief Strategy Officer at Dentsu Asia Pacific, Dr Chalinee Hirano, Executive Strategic Planning Director at Far East Fame Line DDB, Shailesh Iyer, Chief Strategy Officer at Publics One Indonesia, Dave McCaughan, Storyteller @Bibliosexual and Chief Strategy Officer at ai.agency, Andreas Moellmann, Chief Strategy Officer/Head of Digital at Geometry Global Japan, Thomas Wagner, Planning Director at BBH Singapore and Andy Wilson, Head of Strategy at BBDO Asia.

Now in its eighth year, the Prize is free to enter and is open to brand owners and agencies in any discipline. Full details, including an entry kit and form, can be found on the Prize website. The deadline for entries is 10 July 2018.

The author(s) of the Grand Prix-winning paper will win $5,000, while five $1,000 Special Awards will recognise excellence in specific fields. Two of these are for the best new thinking. These include the Category Disruptor Award for the best case of a brand successfully breaking category conventions, and the Early Adopter Award for the best example of a brand using innovation, emerging technologies or platforms.
