NEW YORK: Mediaedge:cia has elevated Lee Doyle to the post of ceo and Rino Scanzoni to chairman of its North American operations. Hitherto, global ceo Charles Courtier has been overseeing the region's 800-strong workforce and estimated $8 billion (€5.98bn; £4.06bn) in billings.

Doyle joined the media agency, part of WPP Group, in 2000 as an account director. He was promoted to managing partner and head of client service in 2002, overseeing communications planning for clients such as Cingular Wireless and Cadbury Schweppes.

Scanzoni has been with the shop since 2002. He was named chief investment officer in 2004 and last year took the same role at GroupM. He continues to hold the GroupM title in addition to his new MEC duties.
