PARIS: French advertising agency group Havas has posted a 7.4% rise in comparable first-quarter sales.

The firm generated revenues of  €345 million ($549m; £277m) in the three months to March 31, up from €337m in the year earlier period.

Taking into account exchange rates, which wiped €20m from sales, and takeovers or disposals, the company's reported sales growth was 2.5%.

Comments finance chief Herve Philippe: "Today we do not see any impact on our numbers from the international environment."

Philippe expects growth to remain solid in 2008 but perhaps not as good as in 2007.

Havas says comparable sales have grown in every region, including the US.
