CHICAGO: Anheuser-Busch, America's largest brewer with an estimated marketing budget of $910m (€641m; £448m), has appointed a new vp of marketing as part of a recent boardroom reshuffle.

Dave Peacock, formerly the company's vp of business operations, will take over the role from Michael Owens, who has held the post since 2004, swapping jobs with his successor.

Peacock assumes responsibility for lines including Budweiser and Michelob, both of which have seen recent sales declines.

He intends to "focus on the revitalization of our core brands while driving innovation across our increasingly diverse portfolio," according to a company memo.

He joined the business in 1992, and will head a team that includes new vp of brand management and geo marketing Keith Levy.
