Peter
Kellner is Chairman of YouGov.
After
graduating from
Cambridge
in
1969
with 1st class honours in Economics
and
Statistics, he spent three
decades
as a journalist, with the Sunday
Times,
New Statesman, Independent,
Observer,
Evening Standard,
BBC
Newsnight and Channel Four
News and
politics programmes. He has
commissioned,
analysed and reported
opinion
polls in nine general elections,
and
participated in each of EPOP's
post-election
conferences on Political
Communications
since 1979, as well as
ESOMAR and WAPOR conferences,
and the
MRS's inquest seminar following
the 1992
general election. An analyst
on BBC
election night programmes
(local,
by- and general elections)
between
1990 and 1997, he proposed
and
designed the 'key wards' system
currently
used to derive national vote
projections
from council election
results
each May.
