David N. Laband is professor of forestry at Auburn University. He received his Ph.D. from Virginia Poly�technic Institute in 1981. Or. Laband is author of 5 books and over 60 articles in professional economics and marketing journals. In addition, he has written extensively about public policy issues and is an occasional contributor to the Wall Street Journal, the Free�man, and major newspapers in the United States. His research interests include public choice, industrial organization and regulation, informational aspects of advertising, labor economics, and applied microeconomics.
