FEDIM

FEDIM (the Federation of European Direct Marketing) represents the interests of the direct marketing sector at the European level. It is made up of eleven national direct marketing trade associations, the European Direct Marketing Association, and companies and European/international associations in membership. FEDIM plays a central role in informing European legislators and politicians about the interests of the direct marketing industry; and provides information to its members on initiatives and activities undertaken by the European Commission, European Parliament, Council of Ministers and Council of Europe, and facilitates understanding and contact with the EU officials. As an active supporter of self-regulation, FEDIM is also campaigning for an effective system to deal with cross-border consumer complaints within Europe, and for national codes of practice including Mail and Telephone Preference Services (MPS and TPS). At the beginning of 1996, all FEDIM national direct marketing association members signed a Declaration of Intent to provide operational MPS and TPS in their own country by the end of 1996 and 1997 respectively.
