David Gilbert

 

David Gilbert is currently marketing lecturer and course tutor for Surrey University's Diploma/MSc course in Tourism Marketing. He has over eight years' operational experience in tourism for the private sector, having worked as a product manager and as a marketing manager for Rank leisure. He specializes in the teaching of consumer behaviour, market research and the functions of marketing management. He has worked with several organizations and consultancies on project work. These include the English Tourist Board researching the holiday preferences and attitudes of 18-35-year-olds; the attitudes of visitors to zoos and museums, and major projects for Cardiff City Council and Newport Borough Council to develop new tourism products and create a market strategy for the city and its attractions.
