Carrie La Ferle

Carrie La Ferle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Advertising at Michigan State University. She is also the 2005 Vice President of the American Academy of Advertising. La Ferle received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Western Ontario, her M.A. in Advertising from Michigan State University, and her Ph.D. in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. La Ferle’s research involves issues related to cross-cultural/international advertising and consumer behavior. Consumer role socialization issues such as brand placement are also important to her work as well as both of the above areas in relation to the internet. La Ferle’s work has been published in the Journal of Advertising Research, the International Journal of Advertising, the Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, and the Journal of International Consumer Marketing, among others. Prior to academia, La Ferle obtained industry experience in Canada, the United States, and Japan. Today, she continues to maintain many of these industry relationships.
