Philip Barnard
On graduating in natural sciences at Cambridge University, Philip
Barnard (51) Joined the then Unilever research company RBL (now
Research International), in London. He held increasingly senior
posts both there and breaking new ground for the company in the
Netherlands, the US and Germany. In 1986 he became chairman of
RI London, and a senior officer of the group, then returned to
New York as US chairman and CEO. Since 1991 he has been chairman
and chief executive Officer of the Research International Group.
He is an active member of ESOMAR, WAPOR, the MRS, and the American
Marketing Association; a trustee of the Marketing Science Institute;
and a distinguished speaker and writer on international research
themes.
