Gary B. Wilcox is the John A. Beck Centennial Professor in Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include alcohol and cigarette advertising and interactive communication. Dr Wilcox was chair of the Department of Advertising at the University from 1990 to 1998 and currently serves as graduate adviser. He gained his Ph.D. in mass media from Michigan State University.
