Online sales at Target fall by 4.8%

The report summarizes online sales trends in Target's earnings report for 2023.

Target's online sales fell by 4.8% year-on-year in its fiscal year (FY) 2023, with digital transactions making up 18.3% of total comparable sales.

Same-day order fulfillment is provided through in-store pickup, Drive Up, and Shipt at Target. These, together, represent more than 10% of total sales. Sales through same-day services increased by 13.6% in the last quarter of FY23, led by growth in Drive Up, according to the earnings report.

In the previous year, digital sales accounted for 18.6% of total sales. The number of transactions - including physical and digital - also fell by 2.4% in FY23.
