Amazon soars above other platforms, but Walmart sees favorable growth in digital

An overview of Stratably's updated forecasts for Amazon's, Target's & Walmart's performance in 2023.

Amazon is growing faster than Walmart and Target, but Walmart is having a favorable year so far in digital sales, according to new predictions from e-commerce intelligence forecaster Stratably. Broadly, Amazon continues to make up a large majority of e-commerce sales among the three major platforms, with the e-commerce giant responsible for 44% of Stratably’s Index.

Compared to previous predictions, Stratably has shifted its current forecast to reflect a favorable quarter. It expects Amazon to grow at twice the rate of the overall US retail market. Walmart, conversely, has increased its omnichannel offerings to potentially positive effect,...
