An overview of mcommerce as a share of total digital commerce in the United States between 2010–2016.

Mobile commerce accounted for just over a fifth (20.8%) of all digital commerce in the US in 2016, according to data from comScore. This represented year-on-year growth of 3.9 percentage points (pp) from 2015, when mobile’s share stood at 16.9%. Mobile commerce has seen its share of the total rise by 17.2pp since 2010, when it took just 3.6%.

In 2016, penetration of standard cellphones in the US was 93%, with that for smartphones lower on 73%....
