Twitter's advertising revenue has topped $1bn for only the second time as the platform's daily userbase reached a new high, according to the latest company reports.
The social media company earned $1,053m from advertising in the second quarter of 2021, an increase of 87.4% from the previous year following a collapse in revenue during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Q2 2020.
Advertising revenue from the United States doubled for Twitter, rising 98.4% to reach $562m. International advertising also performed well, rising 76.3% to reach $491m, the second-highest figure ever reported.
