There were 616m devices blocking ads in January 2017, up 25.5% from 491m in 2016, according to data from PageFair and Adobe.
Data show that the majority – 61.7% – of ad blocking takes place on mobile devices. Approximately 380m mobile devices had an adblocker installed in January 2017, up by 38.2% from the previous year. Adoption on desktop devices is also rising, though the 9.3% growth (to 236m) in January 2017 represents a slowdown from the 19.3% rise in 2016 and 49.6% rise in 2015.
