Seven in ten companies are not compliant with GDPR Article 15, according to Talend's GDPR Compliance Benchmark Report. Among 103 companies operating in Europe, only 30% provided the requested personal data within the mandated one month.

Businesses based outside of Europe appear more proactive in meeting their commitments, with one-half registering compliance. This contrasts with EU based companies, where only 35% managed to meet the deadline.

Between sectors, retail and consumer goods was by far the worst performer, with less than one-quarter of companies compliant. Financial services and travel/transport/hospitality fared better, but compliance was still only 50% and 47% respectively.

Additional research suggests that news sites were impacted the most by the Regulation, while Google actually expanded its reach as a result of its market size.
