Colombia and Mexico recorded the highest level of second-screening in the Americas, according to the latest data from GlobalWebIndex. In both countries, 92% of internet users (aged 16-64) admitted to using a device while watching TV. This was followed by Brazil (at 89%), Argentina (86%), the USA (82%) and then Canada (79%). This follows strong growth in online media consumption in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico since 2012.

While mobile was the most popular second-screening device, there was considerable diversity in its usage across the six countries. Colombia and Mexico both recorded the highest level (both at 81%) and were 25 percentage points (pp) higher than Canada (56%). Brazil was in third-place at 78%, followed by Argentina (77%) and the USA (61%).
