YouTube is removing less inappropriate content

An overview of YouTube videos and channels removed for violating community guidelines.

YouTube is removing less content that violates its community guidelines, according to the latest data from its quarterly transparency report. The video platform removed 2.0m channels that violated its policies in the first quarter of 2020, the lowest level in a year and a half.

YouTube also removed 6.1m individual videos in Q1 2020, flat from the end of 2019 but approximately two million less than normal.

This is actually an under-estimate as it counts only individual videos removed, the 2.0m channels that were removed also resulted in an additional 51.5m videos being taken down during the first...
