Sustainability adspend growing rapidly in the UK

An overview of sustainability advertising on TV and print in the United Kingdom between 2017 and 2018.

Sustainability advertising in the UK has grown rapidly, according to the latest research from Nielsen. While TV advertising that mentions 'plastic' in a sustainable context was non-existent in the 12 months to October 2017, it topped £280,000 in the year to October 2018.

Print has seen an even larger increase, growing by 419.2% to top £1.1 million in sustainability advertising value. This will have been driven in part by the BBC's Blue Planet 2 series, which ran from the end of October to December last year and generated significant public concernabout ocean pollution....
