One in five (19%) sports fans use mobile apps to watch or follow sports content, according to data from YouGov.
Asia Pacific records the highest proportion of consumers using their mobile device as a means to follow sports. Vietnam, in particular, stands out, with half (48%) of sports fans reporting to do so. India, a market where mobile has officially become , follows close behind, at 44%. Taiwan and Japan are notable exceptions, recording some of the lowest rates globally, at 7% and 6% respectively.
