Fewer Brits paying for print newspapers

An overview of print newspaper purchases in the United Kingdom between 2014 and 2018.

The share of UK adults purchasing a print newspaper has recorded its largest decline, according to the latest survey data from the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Print newspaper purchases fell by 4.0 percentage points (pp) year-on-year in 2018, representing almost half of the decline since 2014. Overall, 40.2% of adults stated that they had purchased a newspaper in the past week in 2018.
