E-sports audience to reach 92m in Europe this year

An overview of e-sports audiences in Europe.

The e-sports audience in Europe is expected to reach 92m in Europe this year, according to data from Newzoo and PayPal.

Casual viewers are the main area of growth for the industry this year. Occasional viewers (those who watch less than once a month) rose by 4m to to 59m, with enthusiasts (watch more than once a month) up by 2m to 33m this year.

Women account for one-third (32%) of the European e-sports audience, with 13% being enthusiasts.
