Alphabet ad revenue sees quickest growth in over a decade, tops $200bn

Alphabet's advertising revenue has grown by the quickest rate in more than a decade and topped $200bn in 2021, according to the latest company data.

The company earned $209bn from advertising in 2021, an increase of 42.6% from the previous year. This is the quickest rate of growth since 2007 and an acceleration from the 9.0% growth in 2020.

Google accounts for the majority of this total, with a 71.1% share equal to $149bn. YouTube was the quickest-growing segment last year, rising by 45.9% to $29bn. Google Network rose by 37.3% to top $30bn for the first time....
