Vmware: VMinclusion taara

VMware India, a software company, encouraged women to enter the workforce with ‘VMinclusion Taara’, a campaign that aims to train women in the world’s latest technologies.

Background and challenges

In January 2019, VMware announced a new initiative aimed specifically to address the increasing gender gap in the technology industry -VMinclusion Taara that aims at upskilling 15,000 women in India. With this program, we wanted to highlight VMware India's commitment to driving greater diversity and VMware was late in entering the DEI space with VMinclusion Taara, as there were well-established programs already in the market from reputed corporates such as IBM, Microsoft, ThoughtWorks, etc. with the added advantage that they also provided jobs. However, with VMinclusion Taara it was an opportunity to upskill in the latest technologies...
