UN Women Australia: Empower moves

United Nations Women Australia (UNWA), an NGO, combatted the growing problems of sexual harassment and violence facing young women in Australia by posting self-defence dances on TikTok.

1 in 3 Australian women will experience physical violence and 1 in 5 will experience sexual violence.

1 in 6 have been stalked or followed before they turn 15 years old. With inadequate responses from the government, it was abundantly clear that our leaders were clueless about how to fix it.

Our girls were left feeling vulnerable and abandoned.
