In 1898 a white dog with black ears named Nipper was born on the canvas of Francis Barraud, whose painting, His Master's Voice, depicted a dog's head bent toward a phonograph's horn. In 1901 Nipper became the trademark for the Victor Talking Machine Company, which was bought out by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in 1929. In 1990 the 92-year-old Nipper finally became a parent. The ad agency Ammirati & Puris of New York created a son named Chipper to accompany Nipper in a new advertising campaign...
