Online advertising momentum was so great in the fourth quarter of 2005 that Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) was inspired to increase its projection for 2006 by 21 percent. CSFB now predicts online advertising will grow to US$16.6 billion in 2006.

That is still a small part of the overall advertising pie.

But the growth rate is worth noting. CSFB projects 2006 online spending will grow 32 percent over 2005. In contrast, other forms of advertising will be confined to low single-digit growth...
