The Colombia Journalism Review, a magazine, launched a campaign in the US to create a commitment that outlines new practices for gun violence journalism.

Objectives

The Columbia Journalism Review's objective in creating The Inevitable News was to use their platform as one of the most trusted names in journalism to create meaningful change to gun violence reporting. By changing the way journalists approach stories on gun violence, CJR felt they could alter the public discourse around guns in the United States and begin to attempt to create more positive narratives that will hopefully make communities safer from said violence.
