Target generates $1 billion in value from retail media – and aims to double this figure

Target, the retailer, is generating $1 billion in value from Roundel, its retail-media division, and has set the goal of doubling this figure going forwards.

Target, the general merchandise chain, has built a retail-media unit that delivers $1 billion in value – and has set itself the goal of doubling this total.

Roundel, the division of the Minneapolis-based company, is tasked with providing advertising services to marketers, was established in 2007 with a team of five people. And today, it boasts a triple-digit headcount, as well as a nine-figure value contribution.

“Roundel is now a 500-plus person strong, fully-integrated Target team, already delivering more than $1 billion in value for Target,” Cara Sylvester, Target’s executive vice president/chief marketing and digital officer, reported on an earnings...
