Social media marketers must garner consumer trust

An overview of Hubspot's Global Social Media Trends report.

Consumers view brand legitimacy as one of the top barriers to trust on social media, according to the Global Social Media Trends Reportfrom software and marketing company Hubspot. The report, which surveyed more than 600 consumers, asked social users to rank what factors were most crucial to them when it came to establishing trust with social marketers. Fifty-four percent of respondents noted concern that “sellers on social media aren’t legitimate companies,” while 48% expressed anxiety that they would not be able to get a refund.
