Marketing company Weber Shandwick helped Sanofi Genzyme, a pharmaceutical company, increase their profile by creating Portraits of Isolation, an art installation which brought awareness about certain medical conditions to the German public.

Summary

For some German citizens, 'social distancing' is nothing new - it's a normal part of life. People with type 2 inflammatory diseases like asthma and neurodermatitis often struggle to take part in routine social activities due to their condition. Loneliness and depression are common. But the very hidden nature of their struggle has kept it from the public consciousness for years.

So we tapped into the universal experience of social isolation, induced by the pandemic, as an opportunity to build an emotional connection between these patients' stories and the German public. By repurposing 'social distancing tape' - the strips...
