Introduction

The "Permanent Health Education Program for Nursing Services" carried out by PAE was created to promote training for the people who provide those services, in order to foster their integral development and improve health care.

Nursing plays an essential role within health systems, which implies autonomous and collaborative care provided to people of all ages in every context and includes health promotion, disease prevention, supportive care, promotion of a safe environment, research, as well as participation in health policies and in-patient management.

PAE is an active member of the communities close to its areas of operation. Therefore, PAE promotes, by interacting with the public sector and analyzing the people's needs, public-private initiatives that generate social valueand sustainable improvements, to help improve the quality of life and strengthen the local capabilities.

Thus, the motivation to launch the program was born from the need to respond to real problems detected in the hospitals' health services; first, in Neuquén, and then, in Tartagal (Salta).
