OUR STORY: Nearly 16,000 kids in the U.S. are newly diagnosed with cancer annually. Children and their families need emotional support during this trying time. That's why Aflac –as part of its ongoing Aflac Childhood Cancer Campaign®–partnered with Sproutel, a research and development workshop, to create My Special Aflac Duck. With four patents pending, lifelike movement and emotions, and a Bluetooth-enabled app, this innovative social robot uses interactive technology to help children cope with cancer. Aflac sees the devastating impact of this disease daily and believes children facing cancer need more than medicine. In 2018, Aflac took its 23-year, $125 million commitment to pediatric cancer to the next level, aiming to donate a duck to every child newly diagnosed with cancer, ages 3-13 in America, free of charge via participating hospitals.

OUR OBJECTIVE: Generate broad awareness and excitement to impact our core business, including media attention, surrounding My Special Aflac Duck's launch and delivery – rallying people around Aflac's campaign and making them feel emotionally compelled to spread the word to enable Aflac to deliver as many My Special Aflac Ducks to children in need as possible.
