As a leading global professional services firm, KPMG has a keen understanding of the C-suite. We know that when women are underrepresented in executive positions, businesses lose out. That's why today KPMG invests in ambitious initiatives to advance, develop and empower women. So, when KPMG had the chance to sponsor an LPGA golf tournament, we decided to up the game and break from tradition. The KPMG Women's PGA Championship is the first of its kind on the LPGA Tour. We enabled female athletes to play for larger purses, increased network TV coverage and brought the LPGA to Championship courses to major markets, many of which were previously only played by their male counterparts. We also launched two other innovative initiatives to open C-suite doors to exceptional next-generation women business leaders and provide college scholarships and growth opportunities to future young women leaders. In 2018, KPMG further raised the bar by providing pay continuation to one of our golfers on maternity leave, an unprecedented move for a sponsor on the LPGA Tour, igniting a national media discussion on the topic.
