Crime against women has been on the rise in the country. At the same time, proactive adoption of security solutions has been abysmally low. A consumer study conducted by Researchnow, a research outfit, found despite rising crime against women, less than 6% carried pepper-spray in their handbags. Only 26% informed the police in case of an assault and an identical percentage of women had a security app installed in their smartphones.
