Context

Establishing the background for the 250 campaign

Givaudan, the world leader in Fragrances and Flavours (F&F), wanted to mark its 250th year in 2018. While Givaudan was formed in 19th century Switzerland, its roots go back to 1768 to the distinguished perfume dynasties of Grasse, France: the Chiris and Roure families. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions over the last two and a half centuries, a multitude of organisations contributed to what is now Givaudan. Throughout, one quest remained constant: to engage people's senses with fragrances and flavours that enrich lives every day.

Givaudan appointed two agencies: Lansons, a strategic communications consultancy and Creativedge, a digital marketing agency to develop a campaign to mark the 250th year. Together, with Givaudan's global project team of representatives from across all business areas and functions, we began planning the creative strategy in 2017.
