The Aperol Spritz, Italy's # 1 cocktail, with its infectious bright orange color, refreshing taste, low alcohol content, and easy to replicate recipe (Prosecco + Aperol + Soda) had owned aperitivo hour with a young, chic crowd in Italy for years. But in the U.S., the Aperol Spritz was purely a drink for consumers who had vacationed in Italy and experienced the contagious joy of ordering Spritzes during aperitivo hour – Italy's late afternoon drinking occasion.
